Beginnings

B.B. In Rutherglen with Bill Watt tutoring. He was a very patient and kind person who built up a very competant little band. He was also secretary for a while with SFR.

Other Bands and Achievements

Apart from the B.B. I have only ever been with the SFR. Started in the 1960-s when it was Glasgow Fore Service and I have been here ever since - over 40 years. I was band secretary for a number of years.

Vale of Atholl - much underrated

No special favourite but I do like 6/8 marches particularly those of Donald Shaw Ramsay.

I-d have to say David Kettlewell- who at 79 and counting is still going strong and lost little of his technical ability. A quite remarkable guy who remains as grumpy as ever!!!!!

Best Moment

4th place in Worlds - grade 3 at Inverness. Also when three of us went down to play in front of the queen

Future Goals

To have enough puff to keep going for a few years yet. Also to see the training band out there competing.
